Rhythm & Sands
The best produced party during our stay at Koh Phangan turned the beautiful Beach Village on Baan Tai road into party arena with incredible sound system, lights and visuals.
3 music areas alongside white sandy beaches featured multiple music genres and international performers.
The center of the main stage was a huge tropical pool, just next to the sandy beach. Headliner was Phil Hartnoll from Orbital, which gave the audience amazing dance experience. Before him, the warm up was handled first by local support from Boyonic, and then two more UK based projects – excelent Dub Pistols and Seb Fontaine & Phil Drummond. With house and break beats, the audience were ready for Orbital and completely in the mood for dance beats Phil threw at us. The closing act on main stage was DNB artist Micky Fin.
The Electronic Lounge had a bit more of a club feal to it, in a small restaurant with a pool table. But the sounds there were also much harder, featuring more tech and house artists. As the party progressed on the main floor, we didn’t manage to hear all the artists, but got there just in time to listen to Natalie De Borah’s set with great tech music, and the main act in the lounge, Cagedbaby AKA Thomas Gandey. We loved the music they played and stayed there to dance for a long time.
The Chillout Park featured a nice band – The Jam, that played live chill music, excelent range of tropical beats including Madonna, Vaya Con Dios and others.
Unfortunately, because the party was in an inhabited area it had to end at 2AM, instead of 7AM as it was planned, but we didn’t let that spoil our mood, and continued to party at another location about which I’ll write later.
